Prime Minister ISHIBA’s visit to TICAD Business Expo & Conference and attendance in the signing ceremony


On August 21, commencing at around 8:45 a.m. for approximately 30 minutes, Prime Minister ISHIBA Shigeru, attended the TICAD Business Expo & Conference, a thematic event held related to the Ninth Tokyo International Conference on African Development (TICAD 9), as well as the signing ceremony for the declaration document.
- Prime Minister ISHIBA, together with H.E. João Manuel Gonçalves Lourenço, President of the Republic of Angola, Mr. FUJII Hisaya, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, Mr. KOGA Yuichiro, State Minister for Economy, Trade and Industry, and others, visited the booths of Japanese companies operating in Africa, such as Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd., Synspective and Toyota Tsusho Corporation, and received explanations from exhibitors about their business activities and exhibits. Additionally, he visited the Republic of Angola booth within the Africa Lounge and inspected exhibits related to the country's natural environment, traditional crafts, and investment and business environment.
- Prime Minister ISHIBA also participated in a ceremony to unveil a total of 64 cooperation documents among over 300 documents signed at TICAD 9, together with H.E President Lourenço of the Republic of Angola, H.E. Willian Samoei Ruto, President of Republic of Kenya, H.E. John Dramani Mahama, President of Republic of Ghana, H.E. Mr Robert Beugré MAMBE, Prime Minister of the Republic of Cote d'Ivoire, Mr. FUJII Hisayuki, State Minister for Foreign Affairs, and Mr. KOGA, State Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry, with the participation of many Japanese and African companies.

The TICAD Business Expo & Conference, organized by JETRO, was held as one of the thematic events of TICAD 9. The event aimed to expand business with Africa by providing a platform for business exchange between Japan and Africa, featuring the Japan Fair with 195 participating companies and organizations, the Africa Lounge for introducing investment environments and fostering exchange among African countries, and an event stage hosting various thematic seminars.
