Prime Minister ISHIBA attends the forum on the Economic Region of Indian Ocean-Africa

On August 20, Prime Minister ISHIBA attended and delivered remarks at the forum on the Economic Region of Indian Ocean-Africa with a subtitle of “Towards African Prosperity through Japan-Indian Ocean Collaboration”, hosted by the Nikkei Inc. (co-hosted by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry) on the occasion of TICAD9.
- Prime Minister ISHIBA proposed the "Economic Region Initiative of Indian Ocean-Africa" to accelerate the growth of Africa and the Indian Ocean region by incorporating Africa's vitality and dynamism and working together with both public and private sectors.
- Prime Minister ISHIBA also stated that Japan will steadily work towards the realization of this initiative together with African countries and the Indian Ocean region.
