State Minister for Foreign Affairs KUNIMITSU’s attendance at the reception on the occasion of the 66th Anniversary of the Independence of the Democratic Republic of the Congo

On June 30, Dr. KUNIMITSU Ayano, State Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, attended the reception on the occasion of the 66th Anniversary of the Independence of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, hosted by the Embassy of the Democratic Republic of the Congo in Japan, where she delivered remarks.
- In her remarks, State Minister KUNIMITSU extended congratulation on the Independence Day of the Democratic Republic of the Congo, and introduced the Updated Free and Open Indo-Pacific (FOIP), as well as the three pillars of Japan’s diplomacy toward Africa, which was recently outlined by Foreign Minister Motegi during his visit to Africa.
- In addition, she noted Japan’s implementation of “Emergency Grant in response to the Ebola virus disease outbreak in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and the Republic of Uganda”, which was decided last week, and expressed her expectations for the further development of bilateral relations between Japan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo.
