Prime Minister Abe Held Informal Talks with the Prime Minister of New Zealand (Washoku Reception)

On September 27, Mr. Shinzo Abe, the Prime Minister of Japan, during his visit to New York, held informal talks with the Rt. Hon. John Key, Prime Minister of New Zealand, at the ''Washoku Reception'' held in the official residence of Japanese Ambassador to the United Nations from 7:00 p.m. (local time). The overview of the talks is as follows:
1 Prime Minister Key congratulated Japan on beating the South African team in the Rugby World Cup and Prime Minister Abe stated that he expected good luck for the New Zealand team.
2 The two leaders shared the view that they would continue their efforts for the conclusion of negotiations for the Trans-Pacific Partnership (TPP).
3 Prime Minister Abe requested cooperation for the establishment of the ''World Tsunami Day'', Prime Minister Key replied that he would cooperate for that purpose.
