On February 2, commencing at 4:30 p.m. for approximately 35 minutes, Mrs. KISHIDA Yuko, Spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan held a meeting with Patricia E. Edwin, First Lady of the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), who was visiting Japan.

  1. At the outset, Mrs. Kishida sincerely welcomed First Lady Patricia’s visit to Japan, and expressed her desire to cherish the special ties that bind Japan and FSM together. Mrs. Kishida also celebrated the opening of the new office of the Embassy of FSM in Japan on the 35th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and FSM.
  2. In response, First Lady Patricia stated that she was pleased to be able to visit Japan again and that she would like to cooperate for further development of friendly relations between the two countries.
  3. In a friendly atmosphere, they also exchanged views on cultural exchange between Japan and FSM.
