On May 7, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, visited the Republic of Fiji. The overview of the local itinerary is as follows.

  1. Commencing at 11:55 a.m. local time (at 8:55 a.m. JST) for approximately 50 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, paid a courtesy call on Hon. Rear Admiral (Retired) Josaia Voreqe BAINIMARAMA, Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Fiji, followed by a luncheon hosted by Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs Bainimarama.
  2. Commencing at 2:35 p.m. local time (at 11:55 a.m. JST) for approximately 45 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Henry PUNA, Secretary General, Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat.
  3. Commencing at 3:40 p.m. local time (at 0:40 p.m. JST), Minister Hayashi visited the Fiji Pharmaceutical and Biomedical Service Center, which Japan supported its foundation. The aim of the center is to ensure proper storage and logistics management of medical supplies, contributing to the stable supply of medicines to Fiji and neighboring Pacific Island countries.
