Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs FUJII's attendance at the Welcome Reception for the Ambassador of the Republic of Fiji to Japan

On September 30, Mr. FUJII Kazuhiro, Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, attended a welcome reception in Tokyo for His Excellency Mr. Kemueli NAIQAMA, Ambassador of the Republic of Fiji to Japan, and delivered remarks on behalf of the Government of Japan.
- In his remarks, Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fujii extended his congratulations on Ambassador Naiqama's appointment and noted that Fiji is a friend connected by the Pacific and an important partner sharing fundamental values and principles. Vice-Minister Fujii also stated that bilateral relations have been advancing, including the establishment of the "Lomavata Kizuna Partnership" between Prime Minister Takaichi and Prime Minister Rabuka in November last year.
- Parliamentary Vice-Minister Fujii also touched on the 11th Pacific Islands Leaders Meeting (PALM11), scheduled to be held in Yokohama City in the summer of next year, and stated that Japan will work to further deepen the bilateral relationship across a wide range of fields, including the economy, culture and sports, and people-to-people exchanges.
