Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs Nakayama Receives a Courtesy Call from Fiji Permanent Secretary

On 4th February, commencing at 11:15am for approximately 15 minutes, a total of three people including Mr. Yogesh Karan, Permanent Secretary in the Office of Prime Minister and Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Fiji, who was visiting Japan to attend the meeting for discussion on cooperation among Pacific Islanders paid a courtesy call on Mr. Nakayama Norihiro, Parliamentary Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs. The overview is as follows.

  1. Parliamentary Vice Minister Nakayama conveyed his gratitude towards Mr. Karan for his visit to Japan, and mentioned that he would like to cooperate with Fiji towards Ministerial Interim Meeting of PALM in the middle of this year. He added that this year is the 50th year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Fiji, and he would like to further deepen the bilateral relations.   
  2. In response, Mr. Karan stated that he was grateful for Japan for hosting the meeting for discussion on cooperation among Pacific Islanders, and is willing to offer utmost cooperation for the success of the Ministerial Interim Meeting of PALM in Fiji. Mr. Karan also stated that he was pleased with the deepening of cooperative friendship between Japan and Fiji including the recent increase of high level visit, and that he would like to further deepen cooperative friendship taking the opportunity of the 50th year anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Japan and Fiji.
