On October 6, commencing at 4:30 p.m. for approximately 10 minutes, Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, received a courtesy call from the Japan Australia Business Co-operation Committee (JABCC) and the Australia Japan Business Co-operation Committee (AJBCC).

  1. At the outset, Mr. HIROSE Michiaki, Chairman of the JABCC and Mr. Peter Grey, President of the AJBCC, presented to Prime Minister TAKAICHI the Joint Statement of the 63rd Japan-Australia Business Conference held in Makuhari, Chiba between October 4 and 6. They also reported on the outcomes of the conference and outlined future activities of both committees.
  2. In response, Prime Minister TAKAICHI expressed her gratitude for the contribution of both committees to strengthening economic relations between Japan and Australia, and for outgoing President Gray’s dedicated efforts to date. Mentioning this year’s 50th anniversary of the signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation between Japan and Australia, Prime Minister TAKAICHI expressed her anticipation that the committees would continue to contribute to the further development of Japan–Australia relations.
