On December 19, commencing at 5 p.m. for approximately 15 minutes, Ms. TAKAICHI Sanae, Prime Minister of Japan, received a courtesy call from the Japan Australia Business Co-operation Committee (JABCC) chaired by Mr. HIROSE Michiaki, Senior Corporate Advisor, Tokyo Gas Co., Ltd..

The overview of the courtesy call is as follows:

  1. Senior Corporate Advisor HIROSE reported on the outcomes of the 62nd Australia-Japan Annual Joint Business Conference held in Perth in October 2025, as well as their future activities, including the Joint Statement issued at the conference.
  2. Prime Minister TAKAICHI expressed her gratitude for the JABCC’s contributions to strengthening bilateral economic relations with Australia. She also noted that next year marks the 50th anniversary of the signing of the Basic Treaty of Friendship and Co-operation between Japan and Australia, and expressed her anticipation that the committee would keep contributing to further development of Japan–Australia relations.
