On April 10, commencing at 4:25 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, H.E. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary of Japan, received a courtesy call from H.E. KIM Yung-ho, Minister of Unification of the Republic of Korea (ROK). The overview of the courtesy call is as follows.

  1. Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Minister Kim’s visit to Japan. They exchanged views on situation regarding North Korea, and reaffirmed that they would continue to work closely together on policies toward North Korea between Japan and the ROK, as well as among Japan, the ROK and the U.S.
  2. In addition, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi expressed his appreciation for the consistent support from the government of the ROK regarding the immediate resolution of the abductions issue, as confirmed by Minister Kim.
