On August 23rd, from 5:00 p.m. for about one hour, Mrs. ISHIBA Yoshiko, Spouse of the Prime Minister of Japan had a meeting with Mrs. KIM Hea Kyung, First Lady of the Republic of Korea, who is visiting Japan. The overview of the meeting is as follows:

  1. Mrs. ISHIBA expressed her welcome of Mrs. KIM Hea Kyung on her visit to Japan.
  2. They experienced a Japanese Mizuhiki craft workshop, learning about its cultural background, including its meaning of strengthening bonds between people. They also took part in a traditional Korean craft workshop of Maedeup (meaning “knot” in Korean) , through which they further deepened their friendship.
  3. Afterwards, in a warm atmosphere, they exchanged views on the cultural and people-to-people exchanges between Japan and the Republic of Korea.
