Exchange of Views between Foreign Minister Iwaya and Business Representatives of Japanese and Korean companies

On January 14, commencing at 11:30 a.m. for approximately 60 minutes, Mr. IWAYA Takeshi, Minister for Foreign Affairs of Japan exchanged views with business representatives of Japanese companies in the ROK and Korean companies, and the summary is as follows.
- At the outset, Foreign Minister Iwaya stated that Japan and the ROK are important neighbors which should work as partners on challenges in the international community, and that in light of the current strategic environment, the importance of Japan-ROK relations remains unchanged.
- Foreign Minister Iwaya then expressed his hope that cooperation and exchange in the economic field will be expanded and deepened, and that Japan-ROK economic relations will be further solidified and developed. He also stated that the Japanese government would like to cooperate with the ROK government and support the activities of the business community. He had a active discussion with the participants on the recent state of business between Japan and the ROK, economic exchange and cooperation between Japan and the ROK, and other issues.
