Establishment of the Visit Japan Campaign (VJC) Promotion Committee in the United Kingdom

- With a view to promoting the Visit Japan Campaign (VJC) in the United Kingdom (UK), Japan established the VJC Promotion Committee in the United Kingdom on May 6 (May 5 local time) at the Embassy of Japan in London. The VJC Promotion Committee in the UK will be chaired by Mr. Masaki Orita, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the United Kingdom.
On the same day, the Ministry of Land, Infrastructure and Transport and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs co-hosted the Japan-UK Tourism Evening at the Embassy to promote travel to Japan. It was the first reception hosted jointly by the ministries as a VJC promotion at a local embassy. - The Committee has been established to provide assistance and cooperation for marketing activities to increase the number of tourists visiting Japan, promote PR activities for attractions on tourism in Japan, and offer advice from a local perspective on the planning and implementation of the Visit Japan Campaign projects.
