Application for the registration of events under the "Japan-Danube Friendship Year 2009"

One may use the logo and the title "event registered under the Japan - Danube Friendship Year 2009", for the purpose of advertising an event, after the registration of the event has been approved.

1. Conditions for the registration
- The event should be held in Japan, Austria, Bulgaria, Hungary or Romania, during the period between 1 January 2009 and 31 December 2009, in principal.
- The event should contribute to the promotion of exchanges in a variety of fields, enhancing mutual understandings or consolidating friendship between Japan and the four countries along the Danube.
- The event should have a concrete and feasible program.
- The objectives and contents of the event should not include promotion of specific ideology or religion, nor offence to the public decency (Neither should organizers of the event be engaged in activities that might be construed as offensive). Moreover, the event shall not be profit-oriented.
- The organizer of the event should bear all the expenses related to the event.
- When the contents of the event need to be substantially modified after registration, the applicant should inform the Secretariat or the Embassy of Japan, where the event has been registered, on the modification without delay. The registration may be cancelled, if a cancellation or inappropriate organization of the event is expected.
2. How to apply
a) Procedure
(1) Fulfill the application form and send the necessary documents (2.b)) by mail or fax to the Secretariat in the Japanese Foreign Ministry or one of the Embassies of Japan in the four countries, at least one month prior to the event.
(2) The Secretariat or the Embassy will examine the documents.
(3) The secretariat of the Embassy will notify the result to the applicant.
(4) If the registration is approved, the logo and the "guideline on the use of logo" will be sent to the applicant.
b) Necessary documents

] [Word]) - Documents clarifying the content and financial feasibility of the event (such as summary and an estimated balance sheet)
- Documents explaining the organizers (including the outline of the statutes and the past activities of the organizer)
c) Address
In principle, for the event which will be held in Japan, the application shall be submitted to the Secretariat in Japan, while, for the event to be held in the respective countries, the application shall be submitted to the related Embassy of Japan.
