Signing by Mexico on the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement

  1. The ceremony for Mexico to sign the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement (ACTA) was held on July 12 at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. On behalf of the Government of Mexico, H.E. Mr. Claude Heller, Ambassador of Mexico to Japan, signed the Agreement. (Note)

  2. The Government of Japan welcomes the signing on the Agreement by the Government of Mexico, and will continue to cooperate with Mexico and other ACTA participants for an early entry into force of the Agreement as well as for an expansion of participation therein.

(Note: Before Mexico, Australia, Canada, EU and 22 Member States, Japan, South Korea, Morocco, New Zealand, Singapore and the United States have already signed the Agreement.)
