- H.E. Mrs. Irina Bokova, Director-General of UNESCO, will visit Japan from Monday, November 5 to Thursday, 8 in order to attend the Closing Event of the Celebration of the 40th Anniversary of the World Heritage Convention to be held in Kyoto, from Tuesday, November 6 to Thursday, 8.
- In addition to attend the Closing Event and related events, Director-General Bokova will sign a memorandum of understanding (MOU) between UNESCO and Kyoto University and give a lecture at Kyoto University, and will also give a lecture at a symposium at Kobe University.
- She will also participate in a round table organized by Tomorrow’s Kyoto Cultural Heritage Platform during her stay.
- It is expected that Director-General Bokova's visit to Japan will further deepen the cooperative relationship between Japan and UNESCO.
