Attendance by Minister for Foreign Affairs Koichiro Gemba at the Asia Pacific High-Level Meeting on Innovative Partnerships for Health

1. On Monday, October 24, the Asia Pacific High-Level Meeting on Innovative Partnerships for Health: Regional Solutions, Regional Opportunities will be held in Tokyo.
   
   
2. Minister for Foreign Affairs Koichiro Gemba will attend the meeting and give an opening address. In addition, Microsoft founder Bill Gates, who is the co-chair of the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, is expected to send a video message.
   
   
3. This meeting is being held as one initiative within Japan’s partnership with the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and is part of a series of events on World Polio Day which also involve Japan’s civil society. It is expected that the event will serve as one more important step toward global polio eradication and addressing other global health issues.
