Study Tour by Ambassadors to Japan (Visits to Iwate Prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture)

- From Thursday, October 6 to Saturday, October 8 the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Japan will hold a Study Tour to Iwate Prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture by Ambassadors to Japan from various countries, in conjunction with Iwate and Miyagi prefectures.
- This Study Tour by Ambassadors to Japan have been held jointly by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and local governments in the past, in order to showcase regional attractions such as cultures and industries for the Ambassadors. This fiscal year the Study Tour will be held in Iwate Prefecture and Miyagi Prefecture from the standpoint of promoting tourism, countering harmful rumors and supporting the rebuilding of disaster-affected areas following the Great East Japan Earthquake.
- In the Study Tour, the Ambassadors to Japan will become familiar with the current situation with regard to the reconstruction of disaster-affected areas. Additionally, in order to rediscover the appeal of the prefectures, they are scheduled to visit Sendai Airport, the Shiogama fish market, Matsushima, Hiraizumi and companies in traditional industries as well as holding exchanges with local high school students.
