Foreign Minister's Commendations for FY 2009

On July 15 (Wed), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold a ceremony for the Foreign Minister’s Commendations for FY 2009 followed by a reception at Iikura House.
Sixty-seven individuals and 25 groups (domestic award : 17 individuals, 7 groups, and foreign award : 50 individuals and 18 groups) will be commended. Certificates of commendation will be bestowed upon the award recipients, and the individual award recipients will be also given silk wrapping cloths.
A number of people have been working in various international fields, and have been contributing to promoting friendly relations between Japan and other countries. The commendations aim at praising the outstanding achievements of individuals and groups among them, and further promoting the understanding and support of Japanese people for their activities.
