Regional Promotion Seminar (Tokai/Hokuriku Bloc)

- On July 9 (Thu), the Ministry of Foreign Affairs will host the fourth
Regional Promotion Seminar (Tokai/Hokuriku Bloc) for local
governments to advertise the policies and charm of the region to the diplomatic
corps in Tokyo.
- In the seminar, the prefectural governments of Niigata, Toyama, Aichi,
and Mie, and the municipal governments of Niigata and Nagoya will give a
presentation on its regional policy and charm. It is expected that through
this open exchange between the local governments and the diplomatic corps,
understanding of Japan’s provincial areas will be promoted and a network
between the local governments and the diplomatic corps created.
- In the previous fiscal year, the first through third seminars of this
kind were held for the Kyushu Bloc, the Kansai Bloc, and the Kanto Bloc.
In this fiscal year, the fifth seminar is scheduled to be held for the Hokkaido/Tohoku
Bloc in September, as well as the sixth seminar for the Chugoku/Shikoku
Bloc.
- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been providing various kinds of cooperation to support a variety of international efforts being made by the local governments. This seminar is being held as part of such cooperation.
