The Third Meeting of the Commission on Promotion of Public-Private Cooperation for TICAD and the Japan-Africa Exchange Year

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs will hold the third meeting of the Commission
on Promotion of Public-Private Cooperation for TICAD and the Japan-Africa
Exchange Year April 11 (Fri) in Tokyo. The meeting will be hosted
by Mr. Itsunori Onodera, Senior Vice-Minister for Foreign Affairs.
- The Commission on Promotion of Public-Private Cooperation for TICAD
and the Japan-Africa Exchange Year was established in December last year
for TICAD IV (Fourth Tokyo International Conference on African Development),
to be held in May this year, to share between the public and private sectors
as All-Japan their recognition of the present situation of Africa, where
there are many unsolved issues such as poverty and development.
- At the third meeting, recommendations from the private sector will be compiled, taking into account the discussions held at the first and the second meetings in December 2007 and February 2008.
