14th Global Youth Exchange Program: Public Symposium

- A public symposium will be held on September 8 (Sat) in Tokyo (Lecture
Room 1, Economics Research Building, Faculty of Economics, The University
of Tokyo), as part of the 14th Global Youth Exchange (GYE) Program.
- The global theme of the GYE Program this year is “Youth Culture in
the past, today and in the future: Searching influences given by youth culture.”
During the Program, young people from all over the world discussed
the influences given by youth cultures in many countries and regions including
Japan’s pop culture.
- In the symposium, there will be a keynote speech delivered by Professor Yasuki Hamano, Graduate School of Frontier Sciences, The University of Tokyo, and a talk session between Professor Hamano and Mr. Keiichi Hara, Director, followed by a panel discussion attended by representatives from the young participants. The representatives will then present their proposal as results of the discussions through the Program.
