Visit to Japan by Mr. Koichiro Matsuura, Director-General of UNESCO

- Mr. Koichiro Matsuura, Director-General of the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO), will visit Japan from August 27 (Mon) to September 4 (Tue).
- During his stay in Japan, Mr. Matsuura will attend UNU/UNESCO
International Conference, “Pathways Towards a Shared Future: Changing Roles of
Higher Education in a Globalized World,” on August 29 (Wed) at the United
Nations University and the Second Session of the Intergovernmental Committee for
the Safeguarding of the Intangible Cultural Heritage to be held at the Tokyo
International Exchange Center from September 3 (Mon).
Mr. Matsuura will also pay courtesy calls on leaders of the Government of Japan. - It is hoped that the forthcoming visit to Japan by the Director-General of UNESCO will further strengthen cooperative relations between Japan and UNESCO.
