"Kids Gaimusho Tours 2006"

  1. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will hold a "Kids Gaimusho Tours 2006" on August 23 (Wed) and 24 (Thu).
  2. This program is part of the "National Take Your Child to Work Day," a project carried out by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, and other government ministries and agencies, under which each of them, featuring its own special characteristics, carries out various programs for children. The aim of this program is to provide school children with an opportunity to experience wide-ranging activities of grown-up society during their summer holidays and deepen their understanding of the duties, functions and services of the government.
  3. "Kids Gaimusho Tours 2006" contains the following programs:
    • Talk about the Gaimusho's work
    • Gaimusho Quiz (amusing quiz about relations between Japan and the world)
    • Video show (introduction of Japan's attractiveness viewed from the world outside)
    • Talks by foreign diplomats (Diplomats of embassies in Tokyo introduce surprising and useful information about their countries in Japanese. Diplomats from Canada, Mongolia, the Netherlands, and South Africa are expected this year.)
  4. Participants are now being recruited. Senior grade elementary school and junior high school students can apply. Parents or guardians are welcome to accompany the participants. Up to 140 seats are available. Application should be made by reply-paid postcard and arrive by August 1 (Tue).
