Fifth Meeting of the Joint Governmental Study for Strengthening Economic Relations between Japan and Switzerland

- The fifth meeting of the Joint Governmental Study for strengthening economic relations between Japan and Switzerland will be held on 20th and 21st November in Tokyo (Ministry of Foreign Affairs).
- The meeting will be attended by representatives of the ministries concerned from Japan and Switzerland.
- At the meeting, there will be presentations and discussions on bilateral cooperation including that in the financial area and on rules of origin, as well as discussions on the drafting of a report of the joint study.
- The launch of the Joint Governmental Study was agreed upon at the Summit Meeting between Mr. Junichiro Koizumi, then Prime Minister of Japan, and Mr. Samuel Schmid, then President of the Swiss Confederation, in April 2005. The first meeting was held on 31st October and 1st November in Tokyo, the second on 27th and 28th February in Bern, the third on 29th and 30th May in Tokyo, and the fourth on 21st and 22nd August in Bern.
