"Kids Gaimusho 2005 - Visit Day"

- The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) will hold a "Kids Gaimusho 2005 - Visit Day" on August 24 (Wed).
- This program is held in connection with the "National Take Your Child to Work Day" hosted by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology, under which each government ministry and agency organizes its own program. The aim of this program is to provide school children with an opportunity to experience wide-ranging activities of society during their summer holiday and deepen their understanding of the duties, functions and services of the government through briefings on the work being done and tours of the government ministries and agencies.
- About 70 elementary and middle school children who responded to public invitation together with their guardians will participate in the program organized by MOFA. Mr. Tomohiko Taniguchi, newly appointed Deputy Press Secretary/Deputy Director-General for Press and Public Relations, who joined the Ministry from the private sector of late, will give a welcome speech, and the children will participate in a quiz and a Q & A session on duties and functions of MOFA and enjoy exchange with staff members from embassies in Tokyo.
- This program is conducted in Japanese.
