Ambassador Tatsuo Arima, Special Envoy of the Government of Japan, to Attend the Post-Forum Dialogue Partners' Meeting of the PIF

- Amb. Tatsuo Arima, Special Envoy of the Government of Japan, will visit Papua New Guinea from October 27 (Thu) to 30 (Sun) to attend the 17th Post-Forum Dialogue Partners' Meeting of the Pacific Islands Forum.
- Amb. Arima will attend the Post-Forum Dialogue Partners' Meeting of the PIF as the head of the Japanese delegation to discuss issues of common concern between Japan and Pacific island countries in the political, economic and social fields. He will also conduct bilateral talks with representatives of Pacific island countries and Post-Forum Dialogue Partner countries to discuss such matters as the strengthening of partnership between Japan and the Pacific islands region.
- The Post-Forum Dialogue Partners' Meeting will also exchange views on the Fourth Japan-PIF Summit Meeting scheduled in May 2006.
- Amb. Arima's attending the PIF Post-Forum Dialogue Partners' Meeting represents Japan's stance of attaching significance to its relations with the Pacific island countries. It is hoped that Amb. Arima's attendance at the Post-Forum Dialogue Partners' Meeting will further promote friendly and cooperative relations between Japan and the Pacific island countries.
