Foreign Minister Yoriko Kawaguchi to Visit the Republic of Korea

1. Ms. Yoriko Kawaguchi, Minister for Foreign Affairs, will visit the R.O.K. from January 15 (Wed) to 16 (Thu).
   
   
2. During her stay, Ms. Kawaguchi will have a Japan-R.O.K. foreign ministerial conference with Mr. Choi Sung Hong, Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade of the R.O.K., to frankly exchange opinions on the policies toward North Korea based on the current situation, including the problem of nuclear development by North Korea and to reaffirm the importance to further develop future-oriented relations between Japan and the R.O.K.
   
   
3. Ms. Kawaguchi will also pay courtesy calls on President Kim Dae Jung and Mr. Roh Moo Hyun, President-elect.
