Visit to Japan of His Excellency Islam Abduganievich Karimov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan

  1. His Excellency Islam Abduganievich Karimov, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, and a suite will visit Japan from July 28 to 31, 2002.

  2. While he is in Japan, President Karimov is scheduled to meet with Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi and others to exchange views regarding the two nations' bilateral relations and other issues.

  3. This is President Karimov's second visit to Japan, the first taking place eight years ago in May 1994, and it is expected that this visit will further strengthen the friendly relations between Japan and the Republic of Uzbekistan.
