Visit to Japan by Mr. Algirdas Brazauskas, President of the Republic of Lithuania

May 6, 1997

1. Mr. Algirdas Brazauskas, President of the Republic of Lithuania, accompanied by a suite, will visit Japan from May 12 (Mon.) to 15 (Thu.).

2. During his stay in Japan, Mr. Brazauskas will meet with His Majesty The Emperor of Japan. He will also have talks with leading Japanese Government officials and others to exchange views on such issues as the promotion of bilateral relations between Japan and Lithuania, strengthening of economic interchange, etc.

3. This is the first visit to Japan by a President of the Republic of Lithuania.
