Visit to Japan by Dr. Jacques Diouf, Director-General of the U.N. Food and Agriculture Organization

- Dr. Jacques Diouf, Director-General of the Food and
Agriculture Organization of the United Nations, will
visit Japan from July 3 (Thu.) to 6 (Sun.).
- During his stay in Japan, Dr. Diouf will meet with
Foreign Minister Yukihiko Ikeda, Agriculture, Forestry
and Fisheries Minister Takao Fujimoto, and other
government officials to exchange views on the follow up
of the FAO summit and the organization's activities. He
will also visit Yokohama, where the FAO Liaison Office in
Japan is planned to be established. There he will
exchange provisional agreements on establishing the
office, and inspect the site planned for the office and
other parts of the city.
- He will be accompanied by Mr. Moritaka Hayashi,
Director-General of the Organization's Fisheries
