Statement by Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi on Their Majesties' Visit to European Countries

    I am pleased to announce that Their Majesties The Emperor and Empress will pay an official visit to the Republic of Poland and the Republic of Hungary. Along with the two countries, Their Majesties will also visit the Czech Republic and the Republic of Austria.
    Japan has long enjoyed friendly relations with those countries. This is Their Majesties' first visit to those countries, and along with the Japanese people, I am confident and delighted that the visit will further strengthen Japan's relations with the countries.
    I would like to express my sincere hope for Their Majesties' pleasant journey and safe return home.
