On June 12, commencing at 3:05 p.m. for approximately 25 minutes, Mr. HAYASHI Yoshimasa, Chief Cabinet Secretary, held a meeting with H.E. Mr. Amadou Oury BAH, Prime Minister of the Transition Government of the Republic of Guinea, who is visiting Japan as an official guest of the Government of Japan for participation in National Day Event of Expo 2025 Osaka, Kansai, Japan. An overview of the meeting is as follows.

  1. At the outset, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi welcomed Prime Minister Bah’s visit to Japan and expressed his hope for enhancing bilateral relations, in the areas such as economy and business. In response, Prime Minister Bah expressed that he was pleased to visit Japan and stated his wish to further strengthen relations in a wide range of areas.
  2. Chief Cabine Secretary Hayashi mentioned the contribution of Japan toward the stability and endogenous development of Guinea, through cooperation on human resource development, food security and infrastructure development, and expressed his hope for steady progress of Guinea’s democratic transition. In response, Prime Minister Bah expressed his gratitude for the long-standing cooporation of Japan and his hope for expansion of investment from Japan. Furthermore, Prime Minister Bah explained about Guinea’s efforts towards its transition to democracy.
  3. The two sides exchanged views on regional and international situation and concurred to continue close coordination. In addition, Chief Cabinet Secretary Hayashi asked for Prime Minister Bah’s continued understanding and cooperation for the immediate resolution of the abductions issue, and gained Prime Minister Bah’s understanding.
