With the establishment of the Osaka Promotion Committee for the G8 Finance Ministers Meeting, which unites local administrative and economic circles, Osaka is sending out an appeal for the success of the Summit while promoting the attractions of Osaka and the Kansai Region to the world through its cooperation with and support of the 2008 Summit Finance Ministers Meeting. The number of special sponsoring organizations and other sponsoring organizations that are supporting the committee's activities has reached approximately 90 organizations (as of December 2007) and the number of affiliated organizations is approximately 3,000, so the whole of Osaka is working together to ensure the success of the meeting.

Furthermore, Osaka is cooperating with Kyoto and Hyogo, where the Foreign Ministers and Environment Ministers Meetings are being held, in an effort to show the appeal of the attractions of the Kansai Region to the world.
