Hokkaido Toyako Summit

Taking advantage of the opportunity afforded by the hosting of the 2008 Summit Foreign Ministers' Meeting in Kyoto to promote the attractions of the city both in Japan and abroad, on June 6, 2007, Kyoto established the Kyoto Committee for 2008 G8 Foreign Ministers Meeting (Chairman: Junichi Murata, Director of the Kyoto Convention Bureau), as a support and promotion organization that brings together the administration and the business world, as well as numerous culture, science, religion, transportation, and international organizations. Working in unison, we are aiming to promote the support of the meeting's operation, the dispatch of information on the attractions of Kyoto, and the drumming up of a local welcoming mood.
