書簡をもつて啓上いたします。本官は、関税及び貿易に関する一般協定のジュネーヴ議定書(千九百六十七年)に附属している第三十八表の日本国の譲許表に関する注釈７の規定に定める期限の延長に関する千九百七十年十二月二十八日付けのアメリカ合衆国のライムスタッド大使と貴使との間の交換公文に言及する光栄を有します。
Dear Mr. Ambassador, I have the honor to refer to the exchange of letters dated 28 December 1970 between Ambassador Rimestad of the United States of America and yourself concerning the extention of the time limit given in paragraph 7 of the Notes to Schedule XXXVIII-Japan annexed to the Geneva (1967) Protocol to the General Agreement on Tariffs and Trade.
前記の書簡に言及されている延長された期限に関し、本官は、この期限をさらに一年間、すなわち千九百七十三年一月一日まで延長することをアメリカ合衆国政府に代わつて提案する光栄を有します。
With reference to the extended time limit referred to in the above-mentioned letters, I have further the honor to propose, on behalf of the Government of the United States of America, to extend again the time limit for a further year, that is to say until 1 January 1973.
本官は、さらに、前記の提案が貴国政府にとつて受諾しうるものであるときは、この書簡及び閣下の返簡が通告の期限を延長するための両政府間の合意を構成するものとすることを提案する光栄を有します。
If the above proposal is acceptable to your Government, I have further the honor to suggest that this letter and your reply should constitute an agreement between our two Governments to extend the time limit accordingly.
本官は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに閣下に向かつて敬意を表します。

本使は、さらに、前記の提案が本国政府にとつて受諾しうるものであること並びに貴官の書簡及びこの書簡が注釈7に定める期限を延長するための両政府間の合意を構成するものとすることを日本国政府に代わつて確認する光栄を有します。
I have further the honour to confirm on behalf of the Government of Japan that the proposal set out above is acceptable to my Government and also that your letter and this reply should constitute an agreement between our two Governments to extend accordingly the time-limit specified in the said paragraph.
本使は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに貴官に向かつて敬意を表します。
