AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN AND THE GOVERNMENT OF THE SOCIALIST FEDERAL REPUBLIC OF YUGOSLAVIA ON COOPERATION IN THE FIELD OF SCIENCE AND TECHNOLOGY
日本国政府及びユーゴースラヴィア社会主義連邦共和国政府は、
The Government of Japan and the Government of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia,
千九百六十八年三月十五日に署名された日本国とユーゴースラヴィア社会主義連邦共和国との間の文化協定が科学の分野における交流についても規定していることに留意し、
Bearing in mind that the Cultural Agreement between Japan and the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia signed on March 15th, 1968 includes exchange in the field of science,
科学技術の分野における両国間の協力の重要性が増大していることを考慮し、
Considering the increasing importance of cooperation in the field of science and technology between the two countries,
この協力を一層促進することを希望して、
Desiring to further promote such cooperation,
次のとおり協定した。
Have agreed as follows:
第一条 両締約政府は、科学技術の分野における協力を相互主義の原則に基づき促進する。この協力は、次の形態により行うことができる。
Article 1 The two Parties will promote cooperation in the field of science and technology on the basis of reciprocity. Such cooperation may take the following forms:
(a) いずれか一方の締約政府が派遣する科学者及び技術者の交換
(a) Exchange of scientists and technicians sent by either Party;
(b) 日本国の公の研究機関の科学者及び技術者並びにこのような機関に対応するユーゴースラヴィアの研究団体の科学者及び技術者による会議、シンポジウム、パネル会合及び科学技術展示会の開催
(b) Holding of conferences, symposia, panel meetings and displays of scientific and technological results by scientists and technicians belonging to Japanese official research institutions and scientists and technicians belonging to corresponding Yugoslav research organizations;
(c) 日本国の公の研究機関とこれに対応するユーゴースラヴィアの研究団体との間の科学技術の分野における研究結果の交換
(c) Exchange of results of research in the field of science and technology between Japanese official research institutions and corresponding Yugoslav research organizations;
(d) 日本国の公の研究機関とこれに対応するユーゴースラヴィアの研究団体との間の科学技術の分野における出版物その他の情報の交換
(d) Exchange of publications and other information in the field of science and technology between Japanese official research institutions and corresponding Yugoslav research organizations; and
(e) 将来両締約政府間で合意することがあるその他の形態
(e) Such other forms as may be agreed upon between the two Parties in the future.
第二条 両締約政府は、両国間の科学技術の分野における協力の実施を検討し、将来の協力の一層の可能性を探求するため、外交経路を通じて又は関係のある場において随時協議する。
Article 2 The two Parties will from time to time consult with each other through diplomatic channels or at relevant fora in order to review the implementation of the cooperation and to seek further possibilities of future cooperation in the field of science and technology between the two countries.
第三条 両締約政府は、両国の各種の団体及び機関の間の科学技術協力をできる限り促進し、かつ、容易にする。
Article 3 The two Parties will promote and facilitate as much as possible scientific and technological cooperation between various organizations and institutions of the two countries.
第四条 この協定は、それぞれの国において施行されている法令に従つて実施される。
Article 4 The provisions of this Agreement shall be implemented in accordance with the laws and regulations in force in each country.
第五条 1 この協定は、その効力発生のために必要な憲法上の手続を完了した旨のユーゴースラヴィア社会主義連邦共和国政府からの公文を日本国政府が受領した日に効力を生ずる。
Article 5 1. This Agreement shall enter into force on the date of receipt by the Government of Japan of a note from the Government of the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia station that necessary constitutional Procedures for the entry into force of this Agreement have been completed.
2 この協定は、二年間効力を有し、その後は、最初の二年の期間の満了の際又はその後いつでもいずれか一方の締約政府が他方の締約政府に対しこの協定を終了させる意思を三箇月前に文書により通告することによつて終了させない限り効力を存続する。
2. This Agreement shall remain in force for a period of two years and will continue in force thereafter unless terminated by either Party at the end of the initial two year period or at any time thereafter by giving to the other Party three months' written notice of its intention to terminate this Agreement.
