日本国大使館は、バハマ国外務省に敬意を表するとともに、日本国政府が、日本国とバハマ国との間の旅行並びに文化及び通商に関する関係を促進するため、日本国に入国することを希望するバハマ国民に対する査証及び査証料の免除に関し、千九百八十一年十月一日から相互主義に基づき次の措置をとる用意を有することを同省に通報する光栄を有する。
The Embassy of Japan presents its compliments to the Ministry of External Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and has the honour to inform the Ministry that the Government of Japan, with a view to facilitating travel as well as cultural and commercial relations between Japan and the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, is prepared to take on a reciprocal bas is the following measure s from the 1st of October, 1981 concerning the waiving of visas and visa fees for Bahamian nationals wishing to enter Japan:
(1) 有効なバハマ国旅券を所持するバハマ国民であつて、継続して三箇月を超えない期間滞在する意図をもつて日本国に入国することを希望するものは、査証を取得することなく、日本国に入国することができる。
(1) Bahamian nationals in possession of a valid Bahamian passport who wish to enter Japan with the intention of staying there for a period not exceeding three consecutive months may enter Japan without obtaining a visa.
(2) 日本国政府は、(1)の規定に基づいて査証なしに日本国に入国したバハマ国民であつて、滞在期間を三箇月を超えて延長することを希望するものの滞在期間の延長を許可することができる。
(2) The Government of Japan may grant extension of the period of stay to Bahamian nationals who having entered Japan without a visa under paragraph (1) above, desire to extend the period of stay beyond three months.
(3) (1)の規定に基づく査証の要件の免除は、バハマ国民であつて、就職し、永住し、自由職業若しくは他の生業を営み、報酬を得る目的で芸能(スポーツを含む。)に従事し、又は継続して三箇月を超える期間滞在する意図をもつて日本国に入国することを希望するものについては、適用しない。
(3) The waiver of the visa requirement under paragraph (1) above shall not apply to Bahamian nationals who desire to enter Japan with the intention of seeking employment or permanent residence, of exercising a profess ion or other occupation or of engaging in a public entertainment (including sport) for remunerative purpose or with the intention of staying there for a period exceeding three consecutive months.
(4) 査証が必要とされ、かつ、付与されるときは、日本国の権限のある外交及び領事当局は、その査証についていかなる手数料も徴収しない。
(4) For visas, when required and granted, the competent Japanese diplomatic and consular authorities will not charge any fees.
(5) (1)の規定に基づく査証の要件の免除は、日本国に入国するバハマ国民に対し、外国人の入国、滞在、居住及び出国に関する日本国の法令に服することを免除するものではない。
(5) The waiver of the visa requirement under paragraph (1) above does not exempt Bahamian nationals entering Japan from the necessity of complying with the Japanese laws and regulations concerning the entry, stay, residence and exit of aliens.
(6) 日本国政府は、好ましくないと認めるバハマ国民に対し、日本国に入国し又は滞在することを拒否する権利を留保する。
(6) The Government of Japan reserves the right to refuse the entry into or stay in Japan to Bahamian nationals considered undesirable.
(7) 日本国政府は、書面による二箇月の予告をもつて、前記の諸規定を終了させることができる。
(7) The Government of Japan may terminate the foregoing by giving two months' written notice.
日本国大使館は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに重ねてバハマ国外務省に向かつて敬意を表する。

バハマ国外務省は、日本国大使館に敬意を表するとともに、バハマ国政府が、バハマ国と日本国との間の旅行並びに文化及び通商に関する関係を促進するため、バハマ国に入国することを希望する日本国民に対する査証及び査証料の免除に関し、千九百八十一年十月一日から相互主義に基づき次の措置をとる用意を有することを同大使館に通報する光栄を有する。
The Ministry of External Affairs of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas presents its compliments to the Embassy of Japan and has the honour to inform the Embassy that the Government of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas, with a view to facilitating travel as well as cultural and commercial relations between the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and Japan, is prepared to take on a reciprocal basis the following measures from the 1st of October, 1981 concerning the waiving of visas and visa fees for Japanese nationals wishing to enter the Commonwealth of The Bahamas:
(1) 有効な日本国旅券を所持する日本国民であつて、継続して三箇月を超えない期間滞在する意図をもつてバハマ国に入国することを希望するものは、査証を取得することなく、バハマ国に入国することができる。
