日本国大使館は、モーリシァス外務・観光・移住省に敬意を表するとともに、日本国政府が日本国とモーリシァスとの間の旅行並びに文化及び通商に関する関係を促進するため、日本国に入国することを希望するモーリシァス市民に対する査証及び査証料の免除に関し、千九百八十年七月一日から相互主義に基づき次の措置をとる用意を有することを同省に通報する光栄を有する。
NOTE VERBALE
(1) 有効なモーリシァス旅券を所持するモーリシァス市民であって、継続して三箇月を超えない期間滞在する意図をもつて日本国に入国することを希望するものは、査証を取得することなく、日本国に入国することができる。
The Embassy of Japan presents its compliments to the Ministry of External Affairs, Tourism and Emigration of Mauritius and has the honour to inform the Ministry that the Government of Japan, with a view to facilitating travel as well as cultural and commercial relations between Japan and Mauritius, is prepared to take on a reciprocal basis the following measures from 1st July, 1980 concerning the waiving of visas and visa fees for citizens of Mauritius wishing to enter Japan:
(2) 日本国政府は、(1)の規定に基づいて査証なしに日本国に入国したモーリシァス市民であつて、滞在期間を三箇月を超えて延長することを希望するものの滞在期間の延長を許可することができる。
(1) Citizens of Mauritius in possession of a valid Mauritian passport who wish to enter Japan with the intention of staying there for a period not exceeding three consecutive months may enter Japan without obtaining a visa.
(3) (1)の規定に基づく査証の要件の免除は、モーリシァス市民であつて、就職し、永住し、自由職業若しくは他の生業を営み、報酬を得る目的で芸能(スポーツを含む。)に従事し、又は継続して三箇月を超える期間滞在する意図をもつて日本国に入国することを希望するものについては、適用しない。
(2) The Government of Japan may grant extensions of the period of stay to citizens of Mauritius who, having entered Japan without a visa under paragraph (1) above, desire to extend the period of stay beyond three months.
(4) 査証が必要とされ、かつ、付与されるときは、日本国の権限のある外交及び領事当局は、その査証についていかなる手数料も徴収しない。
(3) The waiver of the visa requirement under paragraph (1) above shall not apply to citizens of Mauritius who desire to enter Japan with the intention of seeking employment or permanent residence, of exercising a profession or other occupation or of engaging in a public entertainment (including sport) for remunerative purposes or with the intention of staying there for a period exceeding three consecutive months.
(5) (1)の規定に基づく査証の要件の免除は、日本国に入国するモーリシァス市民に対し、外国人の入国、滞在、居住、出国及びその他の管理に関する日本国の法令に服することを免除するものではない。
(4) For visas, when required and granted, the competent Japanese diplomatic and consular authorities will not charge any fees.
(6) 日本国政府は、好ましくないと認めるモーリシァス市民に対し、日本国に入国し又は滞在することを拒否する権利を留保する。
(5) The waiver of the visa requirement under paragraph (1) above does not exempt citizens of Mauritius entering Japan from the necessity of complying with the Japanese laws and regulations concerning the enter, stay, residence, exit and other control of aliens.
(7) 日本国政府は、書面による一箇月の予告をもつて、前記の諸規定を終了させることができる。
(6) The government of Japan reserves the right to refuse the entry into or stay in Japan to citizens of Mauritius considered undesirable.
日本国大使館は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに重ねてモーリシァス外務・観光・移住省に向かつて敬意を表する。
(7) The Government of Japan may terminate the foregoing by giving one month’s written notice.
