外務省は、日本国大使館に敬意を表するとともに、ある種の日本国の漁船のオーストラリアの港への入者に関する千九百七十七年一月二十八日付けの交換公交に関し、同交換公文に規定された取極が千九百七十九年三月三十一日まで引き続き適用されることがオーストラリア政府の了解であることを申し述べる光栄を有する。
The Department of Foreign Affairs presents its compliments to the Embassy of Japan and, with reference to the Exchange of Notes dated 28 January 1977 concerning the entry of certain Japanese fishing vessels into Australian ports, has the honour to state that it is the understanding of the Government of Australia that the arrangements described in that Exchange of Notes will continue to apply until 31 March 1979.
外務省は、日本国大使館が、前記のことが日本国政府の了解でもあることを確認されれば幸いである。
The Department would be grateful if the Embassy would confirm that the foregoing is also the understanding of the Government of Japan
外務省は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに重ねて日本国大使館に向かつて敬意を表する。
The Department avails itself of this opportunity to renew to the Embassy the assurances of its highest consideration.

The Embassy of Japan presents its compliments to the Department of Foreign Affairs, and has the honour to acknowledge the receipt of the latter's Note No.CHO26955 dated 26 January 1979 which reads as follows:

The Embassy has further the honour to confirm on behalf of the Government of Japan that the foregoing is also the understanding of the Government of Japan.
