　Tokyo, March 31, 1976


　書簡をもつて啓上いたします。本大臣は、両国間の繊維製品の貿易について、日本国政府の代表者とスゥェーデン政府の代表者との間で最近ジュネーヴで行われた討議に言及する光栄を有します。

　Excellency,I have the honour to refer to the recent discussions held in Geneva between the representatives of the Government of Japan and of the Government of Sweden on trade in textiles between the two countries.


　本大臣は、更に、千九百七十三年十二月二十日にジュネーヴで作成された繊維製品の国際貿易に関する取極の規定に基づく前記の討議の結果到達した次の了解を日本国政府に代わつて確認する光栄を有します。

　I have further the honour to confirm, on behalf of the Government of Japan, the following understanding reached as a result of the above-mentioned discussions in accordance with the provisions of the Arrangement regarding International Trade in Textiles done in Geneva on December 20, 1973:


1　スウェーデン政府は、第二項に言及されたものを除くほか、繊維監視機関に通報された現行の数量制限を直ちに廃棄する。

1. The Government of Sweden will terminate immediately the existing quantitative restrictions which have been notified to the Textile Surveillance Body with the exception referred to in paragraph 2.


2　この了解の期間中、スウェーデン政府は、輸入に可制度により、この書簡の付表に掲げる日本国を原産地とする繊維製品の輸入を同表中に定めるところに従つて制眼する。

2. For the duration of this understanding, the Government of Sweden will limit imports, through a system of import licenses, of the textiles of Japanese origin listed in the Annex to this letter as provided for therein.


3　両政府は、いずれか一方の政府の要請により、両国間の繊維製品の貿易ざ関するいかなる問題についても、特にこの了解の適用上生ずるいかなる問題についても、相手国政府と速やかに協議に入る。

3. The two Governments will enter promptly into consultation with each other at the request of either Government on any problem concerning their trade in textiles and in particular on any problem arising out of the application of this understanding.


4　この了解の前記の諸規定は、両政府により、それそれ国の関係法令に従つて実施される。

4. The foregoing provisions of this understanding will be implemented by the two Governments in accordance with the laws and regulations applicable in their respective countries.


5　この了解は、千九百七十七年十二月三十一日まで効力を存続する。その日までに、両政府は、両国間の繊維製品の貿易に関し協議に入る。

5. This understanding will continue in force through December 31, 1977. Before that date the two Governments will enter into consultation concerning their trade in textiles.


　本大臣は、更に、閣下が前記の了解をスウェーデン政府に代わつて確認されることを要請する光栄を有します。

　I have further the honour to request Your Excellency to confirm the foregoing understanding on behalf of the Government of Sweden.


　本大臣は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに重ねて閣下に向かつて敬意を表します。

　I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your Excellency the assurances of my highest consideration.
