(Singapore Note)

　26th February, 1971.

　書簡をもつて啓上いたします。本官は、シンガポール共和国と日本国との間の千九百六十七年九月二十一日の協定に言及し、かつ、同協定第一条2の規定に従い、同規定中に定められた期間を千九百七十二年三月三十一日まで延長することを提案する光栄を有します。

　Excellency,
I have the honour to refer to the Agreement of 21st September, 1967, between the Republic of Singapore and Japan and to propose that the period provided for in paragraph 2 of Article I of the Agreement be extended until 31st March, 1972, in accordance with the provisions thereof.

　本官は、さらに、日本国政府が前記の提案を受諾されるときは、この書簡及びその旨の閣下の返簡が閣下の返簡の日付の日に効力を生ずる両国政府間の合意を構成するものとみなすことを提案する光栄を有します。

　I have further the honour to propose that if the foregoing proposal is acceptable to the Government of Japan, t he present note and Your Excellency's reply to that effect shall be regarded as constituting an agreement between the two Governments, which will enter into effect on the date of Your Excellency's reply.

　本官は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに重ねて閣下に向かつて敬意を表します。

　I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your Excellency the assurance of my highest consideration.

　書簡をもつて啓上いたします。本使は、千九百七十一年二月二十六日付けの閣下の書簡を受領したことを確認し、かつ、日本国政府が日本国とシンガポール共和国との間の千九百六十七年九月二十一日の協定第一条2に定められた期間の延長に関する閣下の提案を受諾する旨を申し述べる光栄を有します。

　Excellency,
I have the honour to acknowledge the receipt of Your Excellency's note dated 26th February, 1971, and to state that the Government of Japan accepts Your Excellency's proposal concerning the extension of the period provided for in paragraph 2 of Article I of the Agreement of 21st September, 1967, between Japan and the Republic of Singapore.

　本使は、さらに、閣下の書簡及びこの返簡がこの返簡の日付の日に効力を生ずる両国政府間の合意を構成するものとみなすことを確認する光栄を有します。

　I have further the honour to con firm that Your Excellency's note and the present reply shall be regarded as constituting an agreement between the two Governments which will enter into effect on the date of this reply.

　本使は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに重ねて閣下に向かつて敬意を表します。
