日本国とオーストリアとの間の貿易に関する交換公文

(Austrian Letter)

　Vienna, 24 December 1971

　書簡をもつて啓上いたします。本官は、オーストリア政府及び日本国政府の代表がウィーンにおいて最近行なつた会談に言及し、会談の結果到達した次の了解を確認する光栄を有します。

　Sir,
I have the honour to refer to the discussions which have recently taken place in Vienna between the representatives of the Austrian and Japanese Governments and to confirm the following understanding reached as a result of the discussions:

(1)　千九百七十二年十二月三十一日までの間、オーストリアと日本国との間の貿易関係は、千九百六十六年十一月四日付けの交換公文に盛られた取極(千九百七十年十二月二十三日付けの交換公文により改訂された「オーストリア輸入品目表」を含む。)の規定に基づいて引き続き規律される。

(1)  Until 31 December, 1972, the trade relations between Austria and Japan shall continue to be regulated on the basis of the provision of the arrangement embodied in the letters exchanged on 4 November, 1966, including the "Austrian Import List", as amended by the letters exchanged on 23 December, 1970.

(2)　ただし、日本国政府が、千九百七十二年内にこの取極に代える目的をもつて新たな貿易取極を締結することを希望する場合には、オーストリア政府はその取極の締結のためいつでも交渉を行なう用意がある。

(2)  However, should the Japanese Government wish to conclude a new trade arrangement, wit a view to replacing thereby the present arrangement in the course of 1972, the Austrian Government is at any time prepared to negotiate for the conclusion of such an arrangement.

(3)　オーストリア通商産業省は、日本国に対するガット第三十五条の適用撤回問題に関してできる限りすみやかに日本国政府と討議することに同意する。

(3)  The Federal Minis try of Trade and Industry of Austria a0rees to discuss as soon as possible with the Japanese Government the problem of the withdrawal of application of the Article XXXV of GATT towards Japan.

　本官は、貴官が前記のことを貴国政府に代わつて確認されれば幸いであります。

　I shall be grateful, if you would confirm the foregoing on behalf of your Government.

　本官は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに重ねて貴官に向かつて敬意を表します。
