　アメリカ合衆国大使館は、外務省に敬意を表するとともに、次のことが合衆国政府の了解である旨を申し述べる光栄を有する。

　The Embassy of the United States of America presents its compliments to the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and has the honor to state that the following is the understanding of the Government of the United States:


(一)　合衆国政府は、次の表に示す条件により、資格のある日本国民に対し、相互主義に基き、無料で非移民査証を発給する。

(三)　いずれの政府も、いつでも前記の(一)及び(二)項においてそれぞれ規定された相手国国民に与えるべき待遇を終了させる希望を書面により相手国政府に通告することができる。この待遇は、その通告の日の後一箇月で終了させることができる。


							

						

						

							

								
(3) Either Government may at any time give to the other Government written notice of its desire to terminate the treatment which it will accord to the nationals of the other country as set forth in the preceding paragraphs (1) and (2) respectively. 　大使館は、さらに、この口上書及び日本国政府に代つて前記のことを確認する同省の回答を同省の回答の口上書の日付から三十日後に効力を生ずる両国政府間の合意を構成するものとみなすことを提案する光栄を有する。

　外務省は、さらに、日本国政府に代つて大使館の口上書に述べられた合衆国政府の了解が日本国政府の了解でもあることを確認するとともに、大使館の口上書及びこの回答を、この回答の口上書の日付から三十日後に効力を生ずる両国政府間の合意を構成するものとみなすことに同意する光栄を有する。


							

						

						

							

								
　The Ministry has further the honor to confirm on behalf of the Government of Japan that the understanding of the Government of the United States as mentioned intake embassy's Note Verbale is also the understanding of the Government of Japan, and to agree that the Embassy's Note Verbale and this reply shall be regarded as constituting an agreement between the two Governments which enters into force thirty days subseqent to the date of this Note of reply.
