LETTERS REGARDING THE ESTABLISHMENT OF FORMAL DIPLOMATIC RELATIONS BETWEEN JAPAN AND INDIA
インド大使から総理大臣にあてた書簡

本使は、貴大臣に対し、両政府間ですでに成立した次の了解で本日から効力を生ずるものを確認する光栄を有します。
Your Excellency, I have the honour to confirm to Your Excellency the following understanding which has been reached between our two Governments and which will take effect from today.
日本国政府及びインド政府は、インドと日本国との間に戦争状態が終結することを宣言された日から両国間に正常な外交関係を開き、また相互間に大使を交換するものとします。東京にあるインド連絡使節団及びニュー・デリーにある日本政府在外事務所は、前記の日から大使館に昇格するものとします。
The Governments of India and Japan will open formal diplomatic relations between the two countries as from the day when the state of war between India and Japan is declared to cease to exist and will exchange Ambassadors between them. Both the Indian Liaison Mission in Tokyo and the Japanese Government Overseas Agency' in New Delhi are raised to the status of Embassies as from the aforesaid date.
本使は、ここに再開された両政府間の関係が永久に友好的であり、また両国民の相互の利益及び世界の平和に寄与することを信じて、ここに貴大臣に重ねて敬意を表します。
Trusting that the relationship now resumed between our two Governments will forever remain cordial and contribute to the mutual interest of our two nations and the peace of the World, I avail myself of this opportunity to renew to Your Excellency the assurances of my highest consideration.

本大臣は、貴大使に対し、両政府の間ですでに成立した次の了解で本日から効力を生ずるものを確認する光栄を有します。
Monsieur 1'Ambassadeur, I have the honour to confirm to Your Excellency the following understanding which has been reached between our two Governments and which will take effect from today.
日本国政府及びインド政府は、日本国とインドとの間の戦争状態が終結することを宣言された日から両国間に正常な外交関係を開き、また、大使を交換するものとします。ニュー・デリーにある日本政府在外事務所及び東京にあるインド連絡使節団は、前記の日から大使館に昇格するものとします。
