PROTOCOL EXTENDING THE AGREEMENT BETWEEN THE GOVERNMENT OF THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND THE GOVERNMENT OF JAPAN ON COOPERATION IN RESEARCH AND DEVELOPMENT IN ENERGY AND RELATED FIELDS

　日本国政府及びアメリカ合衆国政府は、

　The Government of the United States of America and the Government of Japan;

　千九百七十九年五月二日にワシントンで署名され、千九百八十九年四月二十八日及び千九百八十九年十月三十一日に延長され、並びに千九百九十年二月一日に改正されたエネルギー及びこれに関連する分野における研究開発のための協力に関する日本国政府とアメリカ合衆国政府との間の協定(以下「協定」という。)の有効期間が千九百九十五年二月一日に終了することを認識し、

　Recognizing that the Agreement between the Government of the United States of America and the Government of Japan on Cooperation in Research and Development in Energy and Related Fields, signed at Washington on may 2,1979, as exteded on April 28,1989 and October 31, 1989 and amended on February 1,1990, (hereinafter referred to as "the Agreement") will terminate on February 1, 1995;

　協定第十一条2の規定に従って行動して、

　Acting pursuant to paragraph 2 of Article XI of the Agreement;

　次のとおり協定した。

　Have agreed as follows:

第一条
　協定は、千九百九十五年二月一日より五年間延長する。

Article I
　The Agreement will be extended for five years, effective from February 1, 1995.

第二条
　この議定書は、千九百九十五年二月一日に効力を生ずる。

Article II
　This Protocol will enter into force on Feberuary 1, 1995.

　千九百九十五年一月十三日に東京で、ひとしく正文である日本語及び英語により本書二通を作成した。

　DONE at Tokyo, this thirteenth day of January, 1995, in duplicate, in the English and Japanese longuages, each text being equally authentic.
