(ガルフ航空運航に関するアラブ首長国連邦の航空業務に関するアラブ首長国連邦と日本国との間の協定上の責任を確認する交換公文の終了に関する交換公文)
書簡をもって啓上いたします。本官は、千九百九十八年三月三日にアブダビで署名された航空業務に関するアラブ首長国連邦と日本国との間の協定（以下「協定」という。）に関する交換公文で、アラブ首長国連邦政府がバーレーン王国政府、オマーン国政府及びカタール国政府とともにガルフ航空会社について完全な責任を受諾しているものに言及するとともに、アラブ首長国連邦が現在ガルフ航空会社に対し出資を行っていないことにかんがみ、アラブ首長国連邦政府に代わって、同交換公文を二千八年三月十一日に終了するとの了解を確認する光栄を有します。 前記の事項は、協定に基づいて両国の他の指定航空企業に与えられたいかなる特権又は両国の他の指定航空企業について協定の下で両国の航空当局の間で成立したいかなる合意に対しても影響を及ぼすものではありません。
Abu Dhabi, march 11, 2008 Excellency, I have the honour to refer to the Exchange of Notes concerning the Agreement between the United Arab Emirates and Japan for Air Services (hereinafter referred to as “the Agreement”), signed at Abu Dhabi on March 3, 1998, in which the Government of the United Arab Emirates accepts full responsibility jointly together with the Governments of the Kingdom of Bahrain, the Sultanate of Oman and the State of Qatar for the Gulf Air Company, and to confirm, on behalf of the Government of the United Arab Emirates, the understanding that the said Exchange of Notes shall be terminated on March 11, 2008, considering that the United Arab Emirates has withdrawn from the Gulf Air Company. The above does not affect any privileges conferred on the other designated airlines of both countries pursuant to the Agreement or any agreements made between the aeronautical authorities of both countries under the Agreement for the other designated airlines of both countries.

I have further the honour to propose that, if the foregoing understanding is acceptable to the Government of Japan, this Note and Your Excellency’s Note in reply concurring in the above shall constitute an agreement between the two Governments. I have further the honour to inform Your Excellency, on behalf of the Government of Japan, that the proposal contained in Your Excellency’s Note is acceptable to the Government of Japan, and to agree that Your Excellency’s Note and this Note in reply shall constitute an agreement between the two Governments.
