	The Ministry of Foreign Affairs presents its compliments to the Embassy of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and has the honour to inform the latter that the Government of Japan is prepared to take, on a reciprocal basis, the following measures from October 20, 2007, concerning the waiver of visa requirements:


							

						

						

					

					
				
			
		
			
			
				
				

				
				
				
					

						

							

								
  １　ラオス人民民主共和国の国民であって、ラオス人民民主共和国外務省が発給した有効な外交旅券を所持しラオス人民民主共和国の外交又は領事の任務の目的で日本国に入国することを希望するもの及びそのような旅券を所持し当該ラオス人民民主共和国の国民の家族の構成員でその所帯に属するものは、その滞在期間のいかんを問わず、査証を取得することなく日本国に入国することができる。


							

						

						

							

								
1.	Nationals of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in possession of valid diplomatic passports issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, seeking entry into Japan for the purpose of exercising diplomatic or consular functions of the Government of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and such nationals holding the said passports who are the members of their families forming part of their respective households, may enter Japan without obtaining a visa irrespective of the duration of stay in Japan.

							

						

						

					

					
				
			
		
			
			
				
				

				
				
				
					

						

							

								
２(1)　ラオス人民民主共和国外務省が発給した有効な外交旅券を所持するラオス人民民主共和国の国民であって、１にいう目的以外の目的で継続して九十日を超えない期間滞在する意図をもって日本国に入国することを希望するものは、査証を取得することなく日本国に入国することができる。

							

						

						

							

								
2.	(1)	Nationals of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in possession of valid diplomatic passports issued by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, seeking entry into Japan for the purpose other than those referred to in paragraph 1. and with the intention of staying in Japan for a period not exceeding ninety (90) consecutive days, may enter Japan without obtaining a visa.

							

						

						

					

					
				
			
		
			
			
				
				

				
				
				
					

						

							

								
  　(2)　(1)の査証の要件の免除は、就職し、永住し、自由職業若しくは他の生業（報酬を得ることを目的とする芸能及びスポーツを含む。）に従事する意図をもって日本国に入国することを希望するラオス人民民主共和国の国民には適用されない。

							

						

						

							

								
	(2)	The waiver of the visa requirements under sub-paragraph (1) above shall not apply to any nationals 	of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic who desire to enter Japan with the intention of seeking employment 	or permanent residence, or of exercising a profession or other occupation (including public entertainment and sport for remunerative purposes).

							

						

						

					

					
				
			
		
			
			
				
				

				
				
				
					

						

							

								
３　１及び２の査証の要件の免除は、日本国に入国するラオス人民民主共和国の国民に対し、入国、滞在、　居住、出国その他の外国人の管理に関する日本国の法令に服することを免除するものではない。

							

						

						

							

								
3.	The waiver of the visa requirements under paragraphs 1. and 2. above does not exempt nationals of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic entering Japan from the necessity of complying with the laws and regulations of Japan concerning the entry, stay, residence, exit and other control over aliens.

							

						

						

					

					
				
			
		
			
			
				
				

				
				
				
					

						

							

								
  ４　日本国政府は、好ましくないと認めるラオス人民民主共和国の国民に対し、その理由を示すことなく日　本国に入国することを拒否し又は滞在期間を短縮し若しくは終了する権利を留保する。


							

						

						

							

								
4.	The Government of Japan reserves the right to refuse the entry into or shorten or terminate the duration of stay of nationals of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic in Japan if such nationals are considered undesirable without providing the motives for its decision.

							

						

						

					

					
				
			
		
			
			
				
				

				
				
				
					

						

							

								
  ５　日本国政府は、ラオス人民民主共和国政府に対し三十日前に文書による予告を与えることにより、前記　の諸措置を終了することができる。
