　書簡をもって啓上いたします。本大臣は、これまでチェコ共和国政府と日本国政府との間で適用されてきた千九百九十二年四月二十四日に東京で署名されたチェッコ・スロヴァキア連邦共和国政府と日本国政府との間の貿易協定に言及する光栄を有します。
　本大臣は、更に、前記の協定が二千四年六月三十日にチェコ共和国政府と日本国政府との間において終了する旨の取極をチェコ共和国政府に代わって提案する光栄を有します。
　本大臣は、更に、前記の取極が日本国政府にとって受諾し得るものであるときは、この書簡及びその旨の閣下の返簡が両政府間の合意を構成するものとみなし、その合意が閣下の返簡の日付の日に効力を生ずることを提案する光栄を有します。
　本大臣は、以上を申し進めるに際し、ここに閣下に向かって敬意を表します。

					Prague, April 13, 2004

Excellency,

	I have the honour to refer to the Trade Agreement between the Government of the Czech and Slovak Federal Republic and the Government of Japan signed at Tokyo on April 24, 1992, which has been applied between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of Japan.

	I have further the honour to propose, on behalf of the Government of the Czech Republic, the arrangement that the aforementioned Agreement shall terminate between the Government of the Czech Republic and the Government of Japan on June 30, 2004.

	I have further the honour to propose, if this above arrangement is acceptable to the Government of Japan, this Note and Your Excellency's Note in reply indicating such acceptance shall be regarded as constituting an agreement between the two Governments, which shall enter into force on the date of Your Excellency's Note in reply.

	I avail myself of this opportunity to extend to Your Excellency the assurances of my highest consideration.
